Steven Shell Living Store Opens Near Charleston

I have a few more posts to send out to you before I finish covering my trip to Charleston, SC so today I am sharing about a new store to the area, Steven Shell Living.  Steven Shell of London opened a retail store right outside of Charleston in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  The store is packed with interesting and unique furniture designs, classic upholstery, accessories and art.  A wide range of finishes are offered from the nice and neutral to the bold and beautiful.  All surprisingly priced with quality workmanship.  I fell in love with the painted cabinets and particularly the aqua black combination.  I know you are not surprised by my color preference.

Check out this beautiful hand painted chest that looks like it is draped in fabric.  Such a fun piece.

Circle detailing on the cabinet doors combined with the beautiful aqua finish lends a modern feel to this piece.

This was the sweetest little side chair.  It was upholstered in a bulkier weight linen type fabric and had the most delicate lines.  It could surely be a nice addition to anyones home.

Interesting light fixtures made out of a variety of materials.  Nice size and scale if you need something larger.  Tip alert: When you are shopping for specific items for your home be sure to bring your measurements with you.  In large stores like this it can be difficult for you to judge the scale of items.

I do love these botanicals that are painted on canvas.  Wall hangings are a great option to traditionally framed prints.

These rich painted finishes are sure to please any color lover.  Remove the throw pillows and place this bench with it's intricately carved back against a colored wall to add a little style and personality to any space.

Yellow paint and multi colored striped fabric creates a sunny setting for meals with this table and chair combination.
A great way to add interest to any interior is to use something unexpected or not the standard.  I think either of these two pieces would make a great kitchen island or prep space.

Even if you are not in the market for any furniture at this time I recommend you go ahead and check out this store when in the area.  It will still be a rewarding experience and a pleasant part of your day.  Just be sure to think about your measurements before you get carried away on purchases.  After working all the doors and mechanisms of a beautiful large black cabinet with aqua interiors someone at my house got so excited envisioning this piece at home on our upstairs landing that he was reaching for his wallet.  Luckily his personal interior designer was there to inquire exactly how he intended to get that large a piece up to the second floor.  Actually, I loved it too so I did not automatically think through it at first myself.  Isn't it great that you can get that inspired by a piece of furniture.  You can check Steven Shell Living out on facebook here.

My next post will feature Candelabra Lighting & Home Decor which is not to far down the street from Steven Shell Living.  Happy Shopping.   -  Marianne
