Colorful Cupcakes and Chevron Celebrate The Day

Our Easter weekend had a high note before it was even started.  Our beautiful, creative, and loving granddaughter turned 8.  This very much seems like a landmark event for my little fashion diva and since she is all about loving chevron I figured I would throw her a little chevron themed family cupcake party.  Her skating party for friends is scheduled for later this week but everybody knows that on your actual birthday date you gotta eat cake.

The color palette was pink and green and all girly.  The wrapping paper spoke to all things bright, cheerful, happy and fun just like the ray of sunshine that she is to us.  Tie that up with a little tulle for a bow and you have girly perfection.

These swirly candles were perfect to lend an air of zig zag to our chevron theme. A plus was that they were right on the shelf at my grocery store.  Sometimes I get overwhelmed thinking I should be on line searching for the perfect thing to make the perfect moment. But who need overwhelmed. Sometimes what is right there in easy access is a actually a pretty cool option. If your local store does not have great options thought here is a great link for a variety of curly candles. The chevron plates and napkins and tulle were bought at my local Hobby Lobby, they have quiet an assortment of colors of chevron paper products online.  I think the ones I bought were part of their Easter assortment.  You know how they label these things ladies and gents and the discount depends on the label.  I don't buy anything at Hobby Lobby that isn't on sale.

All I know is that the saying around here is "it is Great to Be Eight!".   I can remember that feeling.   -  Marianne
