kitchen tool centerpiece |
Today I wanted to show you a bridal shower full of creativity and a very sweet color palette. I've watched the bride, Rebecca, grow from a little girl into a beautiful young lady. These little celebrations that mark the special times in our lives are so much fun. I not only get excited about the honoree's new beginnings, but I get sentimental remembering the wonderful journey I have traveled myself.
The three young ladies who planned this special event, Emily, Jessica, and Rachel, created a simple yet elegant celebration that included handmade personal touches, a beautiful ruffled hat cake, and that sweet color palette of tan, pale aqua, and salmon.
The centerpiece above is just darling, made up of kitchen tools and towels. All of it usable. Save the ribbons and bribe logo for your scrapbook and then just disassemble and put the tools and cloths away in your new kitchen. The shiny silver scalloped cake doily and the wire whisk add just the right amount of sparkle.
aqua and coral hat cake |
The hat cake is truly a show stopper. The aqua icing is beautifully contrasted with a salmon colored flower and edge. I am so in love with these ruffle cakes we are seeing. This cake feels like a version of that to me. I like them so much I have done a little research into how you make them. However, since managing icing is not a strongpoint of mine, I, so far, have just pinned beautiful pictures of them to my Pinterest board. The cake was made by My Two Sweetie Pies. Here is the link also to My To Sweetie Pies Facebook page.
hand decorated cookie pops |
For me there is no such thing as too many sweets. You know I enjoyed these cake pops. The hand decorations on each is amazing and I just can't get enough of the many uses for colored paper straws. Imagine how much time and patience it took to make these. If you want to try it your self Craftsy has a great tutorial on making smooth cake pops. And this NinerBakes offers a great swirl tutorial with picture and video.

notes of advice for the bride |
Anytime you give attendees an opportunity to interact through a personal message the results will be something to cherish over time. Each table setting included a different suggestion for advice giving just in case you needed some inspiration. The hand made cards read "Advice to the bride about…", so you could choose a topic that was personal to you. After the event the notes could easily be assemble into a book or added to your registry.
I'll wrap it up with another picture of the amazing cake. I realize that I used the word "sweet" several times in the post but I just seem to sum it up well. Thank you, Rebecca, for letting me share the pictures of your shower. You have some "sweet" friends who planned a perfect event. - Marianne
