Simple Solutions For: Updating Your Traditional Interiors

Sometimes I am asked if there is a  simple way to update existing traditional interiors.  Most times people are not interested in completely replacing everything in a room.  Oh how we do get attached to our things in a most wonderful way.  If you've wondered the same thing here is your answer, definitely yes.

I recommend you consider starting by replacing your rug.  This picture is a great example of how it can work.  Most of the furniture and accessories are strictly traditional.  So close your eyes and imagine how different this room would feel if it had a standard traditional oriental rug.  Now look back and see how the large open pattern in the rug has created a whole new energy to the space.

There are so many beautiful rugs available now that will blend seamlessly into your traditional interiors and add that special touch of personality to the space. The strict rule of oriental rugs for traditional interiors has gone out the window in the new traditional standards.  This opens up the doors to new patterns, shapes, and colors.  If the scale of this pattern would be overwhelming to you there are plenty of smaller scale options.
