One of our families favorite things to do is make treats and Christmas cookies. Our lives have been a little crazy and busy lately. I seriously had not wrapped one gift until yesterday so I am planning for us to make treats next week. I decided cookies are great even if you eat them the week after Christmas.
I could not resist posting some pictures of my adventures with my sweet little granddaughter from a few years ago. There is nothing easier than dipping things in melted chocolate or almond bark and then adding sprinkles. To make a grand presentation wrap them up with cello wrap and and a little curly ribbon. Your little ones will proudly distribute them to guests and the ooh's and ah's will make them beam.
This is my beautiful granddaughter and treat helper. Doesn't she look happy to be doing this? She gets so excited when we have a project. Baking and cooking is one of the favorite things we share time doing. I just love this precious little smile!
Things can get a little messy but that is part of the fun. Of course be ready to let them eat a little as they go along. They will want to ensure their treats will be tasty for others to eat or maybe they just can't resist. I fix a little testing bowl for her separate from our main bowl. I have the cutest picture of her with the white almond bark on her face but am not posting in a effort to not reveal how overly obnoxious I am about my darling, lovable and angelic grandchildren.
Yum! All wrapped up and ready to give out. Job well done!
So you will have to wait until next Christmas to learn about our cookie bake off tradition since the cookies will not get made in the next couple of days. But hey, that gives you something to look forward to next Christmas. - Marianne
